Change Your State of Mind: The Black Belt Way
There are two main ways to change your state of mind.
1. Recreate a Happy Memory: Think of something that truly makes you happy. Recall a time when you felt as though you were on top of the world. Recreate this memory as vividly as possible. Imagine the sights, sounds, and feelings of that moment. Soon, you'll notice your mood beginning to improve.
2. Change Your Physiology: Your physical state affects your emotional state. Sad people often have slumped shoulders, poor posture, and dull facial expressions. To feel better instantly:
- Stand up straight.
- Take a deep breath.
- Engage in an activity you enjoy.
For example, after a good martial arts workout, you’ll almost always feel better. This demonstrates that changing your physiology can directly improve your emotional state.
By incorporating these techniques into your daily routine, you can effectively manage your mood and maintain a positive outlook, just like a Black Belt. Remember, your mind and body are closely connected, and taking control of both can lead to a happier, more fulfilling life.
