Health Care Alternative for Martial Arts School Owners
If you own a martial arts school, you're probably feeling the pinch of skyrocketing health insurance costs. There’s a solution worth considering: Christian Healthcare Ministries (CHMs).

CHMs are not insurance companies. They are nonprofit health care sharing ministries. Members contribute a monthly amount to a central fund.
This fund is used to pay for medical expenses. Members of CHMs are exempt from the Obamacare taxation penalty.
Over one million people have turned to CHMs as an alternative to traditional health insurance.
One such CHM I’ve used for the past three years is Liberty Health Share. I pay $157 a month for 70% coverage.
For a $1,000 bill, $700 is covered by the ministry, and I pay $300. Some plans cover up to 100%. A friend of mine had a $50,000 bill covered when a family member had a heart attack.
While CHMs have been effective for me, they might not be for everyone. Do your own research before making a decision.
For me, CHMs represent a return to a more personal healthcare relationship. I have a doctor I pay $60 a month. I can visit him as often as needed.
When I pay him, I forward the invoice to Liberty, and they reimburse me from my $157. So, my total expense remains $157.
I also have access to a chiropractor who charges a flat $25 per month. There are many direct-pay providers offering services at a lower cost.
CHMs have been a staple of the Christian lifestyle for decades. They offer a voluntary way to share healthcare needs, contrasting sharply with government-imposed insurance mandates.
