Subject: Your Commitment to Black Belt Excellence
Dear Richard,
Thank you for your letter and goal sheet.
I’m glad you gave this the consideration it deserves, and it's no surprise that you are as committed as you say. After working with you, I can recognize desire when I see it, and it has nothing to do with getting it right the first time.
Of course, Black Belt is not for everyone. It requires lots of practice, a Black Belt Attitude, and good attendance. I also know that you can do it. Don’t be discouraged by your early struggles. These challenges are what make the black belt the world’s most recognized and respected rank of achievement. You will do it.
I’m happy to hear you are enjoying class as much as we enjoy having you. I’m very proud of your progress.
Keep up the good work, and I’ll see you in brown and black belt class before you know it.
Sincerely,
John Graden
