Objective:
Enhance students' reflexes and hand-eye coordination with a fun and effective paper-catching drill.

Instructions:

  1. Pair Students:

    • Have students form pairs and stand facing each other at about an arm’s length apart.
  2. Initial Drill:

    • One student will hold a sheet of paper above their head and drop it.
    • The other student, with hands at their sides, must catch the paper before it hits the ground.
  3. Progression:

    • As students become more adept, increase the challenge:
      • Tear the Paper: Start tearing the paper in half before dropping it.
      • Further Tearing: Continue tearing the paper into quarters, making it more challenging to catch.

Benefits:

  • Reflex Improvement: Enhances reaction times and hand-eye coordination.
  • Focus and Concentration: Requires students to remain attentive and responsive.
  • Fun and Engaging: Adds a playful element to training, keeping students motivated.

Tips:

  • Ensure a clear space around the students to avoid distractions or accidents.
  • Adjust the height from which the paper is dropped based on the students' skill levels to keep the exercise challenging but achievable.

By incorporating this simple drill into your classes, you can help your students develop quicker reflexes and better coordination, essential skills for effective self-defense.
