Motivation in Martial Arts Education
Our teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that martial arts training transcends physical boundaries, profoundly impacting a child’s behavior at home and at school. By integrating these principles into our curriculum, we significantly enhance the value of our programs. While these concepts are not part of the formal testing criteria, they are essential learning tools that we revisit daily or weekly.
Motivational Education, Level #1:
The fundamental techniques of martial arts, such as attention and bowing, lay the foundation for learning. Coupling concentration and focus with self-discipline empowers students with the essential tools for academic and personal growth. By fostering respect for oneself and others, we cultivate the attributes necessary to develop into well-rounded individuals.
The 100-Time Theory:
Persistence is a key lesson in our classes. We challenge the common tendency to give up after a few attempts with the 100-Time Theory, which encourages students to try something 100 times before quitting. This theory helps students overcome significant barriers to success and instills a belief in limitless potential.
Empowering Phrase:
Our students learn to internalize the mantra, “You can always do better than you think you can,” as a stepping stone to believing in their capabilities.
New Student Checklist:
To further support our students’ integration into the martial arts community, we provide a checklist that covers all aspects of school etiquette and preparation:
- Proper placement of gym bags and shoes
- Uniform foldin
