Someone pays you a compliment and you say to yourself, “They’re just being nice.” Like a swift sidekick, you have just bruised your self-esteem by feeling yourself not worthy of a compliment.

You go out of your way to help a fellow student. Your instructor thanks you and praises you for your thoughtfulness and help. You say, “Oh, that was nothing.”

If these are examples of the way you react to others, your life will always feel cold, and you will feel left out of the warm embrace of relationships.

With the Black Belt Attitude, you accept praise graciously. You never let your mind turn positives into negatives, and you have the ability to appreciate the good things in life that happen to you without question.
